I had been in communication with Brad Moore, CEO of Hallmark movies and with his help as well as my father's we planned an amazing trip for my mother and Tabitha. We flew them out together to Boston, Massachusetts to do the Hallmark Movie Experience. We told them they would fly out and stay at a fancy hotel and be escorted around by the CEO and Producer of the Movie Chris Morgan. They would get to be on set with Julia Stiles, Frances Fisher, David Walton, and Camryn Manheim. They were so excited just to be a part of that experience. Little did they know that while I was supposed to be house sitting and watching her two puppies, I would be flying up to Boston the next day to ask the big question.
I arrived in Boston and with careful planning I was at the same hotel and hiding just a few doors down from them. I went out early the next morning to the movie set and met with the costume and props departments and they dressed me up as a gardener on the grounds. My mother and Tabitha arrived on set a little later and were being escorted around. After meeting people and watching some filming the producer and CEO asked if they wanted to go look at this church on the campus where they were about to start setting up to shoot the next scene. As they were making the 100 yard walk towards the beautiful church, I was in the church flowerbeds raking leaves. When they got about 10 feet from the front door of the church, I was slowly backing up in front of them. When they got closer I yelled "Get off the grass." My mother scurried off the grass while Tabitha stood there, confused because the voice sounded familiar. I turned and removed my hood and exposed my true identity. She was stunned. After questioning me why I was there, I took her hands in mine and said, "I love you and I want to spend my life with you, and We Can make our own Hallmark Movie Together." Then I dropped to one knee and asked her if she would marry me. She said, "YES, ABSOLUTELY!" Hallmark had photographers posted on the grounds that were secretly taking video and snapping pictures the whole time. After she said yes we went back over to the set where the actors and actresses were. They already knew what was happening that day got to ask us questions and tell use congratulations. The movie chef even made us our own congratulatory cake and we all celebrated all day. It was truly a moment we will all remember the rest of our lives. |
