My fiance Craig and I have been together for almost 3 amazing years by the time of his proposal. This past Christmas we chose to go on a shopping spree to buy what ever we wanted instead of the traditional gift giving. When Christmas morning arrived we woke up relaxed and excited our 6 month old puppy Bentley. Talking to him like a toddler I grabbed his very own stocking and assisted to sneak his head in and grab his goodies. At the same time Craig was excited with Bentley, nothing out of the ordinary. Suddenly he says, "We'll it's time to look for your gift, it is in, on or around the Christmas tree." I was confused at the idea of this as we had planned no gift giving and not to mention that I had not noticed anything around the tree. Craig convinced me to search otherwise. I walked over and glanced at the window ledge behind the tree...nothing there. As there was nothing hanging or sticking in between branches of the tree either. I became frustrated, grabbed and ornam ent and said, "All I see are these darn ornaments!" Still, i was clueless to the little rattling sound of the ornament, thinking it was just it's material hanging in the inside. This particular ornament was shaped like a bell and covered in different patterns of silver beads, thus the assumption of the rattling sound. Meanwhile, Craig is thinking something along the lines of, "Come on, seriously?" He asked me what was on the ornament. I still was oblivious to it that he grabbed the ornament from me, took off the ring hanging on the top of the ornament through the loop of string. MY EYES POPPED! Craig kneeled on one knee and lol I quote says, "Now, I have a question..... Will you marry me?" All I could says of course was 'yes,' but nothing immediately following as I was blown by his proposal. I always thought I would cry when this day came but the surprise took over! AND on final note, the ring had been hanging there for a few days! Oh and he decided to take the opportunity to propose after we decided no gifts for each other this year. Really had no idea:) So now our big day is to take place on September 22, 2012. One photo attached is the ornament with the ring laying right on top of it and they blended realllllly well that I couldn't tell. |
