At 19 years old, I was studying accounting in college but something didn't feel right. I felt that I had to take a break of it all and go away. I decided I was going to go to England for about 6 months and then come back home and finish school.
I left then for England in January 2003. I had found a job in a small hotel in Chester, north England, as a house keeper. Everything went smoothly and as planned up until I met this Irish guy from the restaurant called Niall. He had stunning green eyes and was a bit mysterious, which I liked very much. At the Christmas party, I spoke to him and something felt so right: As I was talking to him, he looked at me and then kissed me. This was it ... I was in love. For the next 5 months we were inseparable. We saw England, Netherland and France together and it was the best time of my life. We stayed 2 years in London and when my English Visa expired I went home to apply for an Irish work permit so I could stay with Niall. I moved to Ireland in 2005 but unfortunately after one year my Visa expired again and there were no other options available to us. I had to leave the country and say good bye. Now, you have to understand that at this time we were 24 years old and still so young. We thought about getting married right then so we could stay together but our families convinced us otherwise. This was the hardest thing I had to do in my life. Niall kept telling me that it wasn't over, that he loved me but we both knew it couldn't work ... The separation was very painful. After 8 months, I received an email from Niall. He said that he wanted to come to Canada to visit. I did not know if it was a good idea but I really missed him so I told him to come. So a few months later I was at the airport to pick him up and when I saw him everything came back to me. I still loved him. We had a wonderful week together it felt like we were never apart. When it was time to say goodbye, he took my hand and told me he loved me and couldn't live without me. He asked if he could come to live with me in Canada. I of course said yes I was so happy!!!! It took 10 months before he received his Visa for Canada but the wait was worthwhile. We were meant to be with each other and no country laws or no distance would ever separate us again. In 2010 he went down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It is a new beginning and I can't wait to become his wife. The wedding is next year in August and all his family and friends from Ireland will be present. In conclusion, in a relationship everything can go wrong ... but everything can go just great if you just keep faith! J |
